Lynx Island located in Black Bay is one of the most popular recreation areas on the Minnesota side of Rainy Lake!

It is a favorite for summer fishing and boating and is a great Fall duck hunting area. The 41-acre island is host to deer, bear, fox, grouse and other northern Minnesota birds and animals. It lies outside the boundaries of the Voyageur's National park but the pristine Park is the backdrop for the fantastic views from the building sites. The closest public boat access is located at the Park Visitors Center, which is just over a mile away.
